Some objects invite you to look a little closer.
This P&A Oil Lamp pairs a tall metal frame with a black reservoir decorated in painted grape clusters and trailing leaves. Worn surfaces and small details give it the character that makes vintage pieces so interesting to explore.
It’s maker’s mark reads P&A Mfg. Co., Waterbury, Connecticut – a small clue to the history behind the object.
The lamp stands approximately 15 inches tall, or 16 including the top loop. It is being offered without a glass chimney though the “Eagle” mark on the wick housing is an indication of the size necessary should that become part of the lamp’s next chapter.
Curator’s Note: The painted decoration, slender frame, and visible signs of age each deserve a closer look. Visit the listing for photographs and more condition details.
